Process:

We were interested in being able to emit light around the edges of acrylic sheets and came across paper sliceforms during our research. After creating a 1:1 scale prototype with foamcore, we sought out to create our base in Solid Works. A 3D printer was then used to print out the base as it is a housing for all the wiring and 36 ultra bright LEDs.

The acrylic slices were shaped in Illustrator, and then sent through a laser cutter. Even with our inexperience with this process, we were fortunate enough to not run into many obstacles and finished ahead of schedule.
